The past two weeks at Wood4Good have been nothing short of incredible. We’re thrilled to share that we’ve had more corporate volunteer groups join us in the last two weeks than ever before in our history! Their hands-on help has directly contributed to the highest firewood production we’ve ever seen in such a short time. Thanks to these amazing teams, more families across Vermont will stay warm this winter.
Volunteers from all over the greater Burlington area came out to make it a success

We want to give a huge shoutout to the hardworking teams from EastRise and Vermont Federal Credit Union, who showed up ready to split, stack, and load with serious energy. Their commitment to giving back—boots on the ground, gloves on hands—embodies what community support truly looks like. The crew from Northstar Leasing also jumped in with full force, bringing their teamwork from the office straight into the woodlot, and helping us keep the production line moving strong.
Of course, we can’t forget Darn Tough Vermont, who brought the same toughness and heart to our volunteer days that they put into every pair of socks they make. The team from Ivy Computer, Inc. also rolled up their sleeves and brought great energy and enthusiasm. Their efforts made a serious dent in the pile—and helped us stay ahead of the season’s needs.

And a huge thank you goes to the Rotary Clubs of Chittenden County. These community-minded leaders have been a consistent presence and force of good at Wood4Good, showing up with a spirit of service that’s deeply inspiring. Together, all of these groups helped us hit a new milestone—not just in firewood production, but in what’s possible when businesses and service organizations come together to make a real impact. We’re deeply grateful—and more fired up than ever to keep this momentum going.
We are always looking for more volunteers to help us with our mission to end heating insecurity in Vermont
