Wood4Good: Growing Statewide to Keep Vermonters Warm

Wood4Good is expanding, our goal is to several new areas and to eventually serve the whole state. New processing and distribution hubs in Plainfield, Burke, and Rochester (Volunteer with us here) will allow us to reach more remote and underserved communities across Vermont.
Wood4Good was founded on a simple belief: no Vermonter should go cold in the winter. What began as a small family effort—splitting a few cords of wood for neighbors in need—has grown into a community-powered movement, serving 188 families and delivering 250 cords of wood across Northwest Vermont. That growth reflects both rising need and the incredible support of our volunteers, donors, and community partners.

Now, we are taking our most significant step yet: expanding statewide.
As heating costs rise and economic pressures continue to mount, the need for safe, reliable heat is growing across the state. Expanding now is essential.
To make this next chapter possible, we need:
1. Donations – to fund equipment, transportation, and new regional hubs
2. Wood Supply – log-length, processor-grade firewood donations
3. Volunteers & Partners – community members, landowners, and businesses ready to help
Together, we can ensure that no Vermonter has to choose between basic needs
