New Volunteers Brave the Heat for Vermont Families!

This past weekend, a dedicated group of new volunteers joined Wood4Good to split, load, and distribute firewood to four families in need—despite the intense summer heat. With temperatures soaring, the team remained committed, processing seven full cords of wood and ensuring each family received enough firewood to prepare for the colder months ahead. The effort is part of Wood4Good’s ongoing mission to provide sustainable heating resources to households that rely on wood for winter warmth.

Founded on the belief that no family should go cold, Wood4Good organizes year-round efforts to collect, process, and distribute firewood to local communities. The volunteers worked tirelessly, managing everything from operating splitters to stacking and loading the heavy logs—all while staying safe and hydrated in the heat. Their hard work reflects the organization’s commitment to supporting families in a hands-on, practical way that brings lasting impact.

There’s still more work to do to help serve additional families currently waiting for firewood. Whether you’re an experienced woodcutter or just ready to lend a hand, your help is needed and deeply appreciated. Come be a part of the Wood4Good community and help bring warmth to those who need it most.
