Looking back at the good in 2025…

In 2025, the Vermont community showed up in an extraordinary way. We welcomed over 100 new individual volunteers and were joined by 10 new volunteer groups, making this the strongest volunteer year in our history. This growing network of individuals and organizations is at the heart of everything we do.

Record Impact in 2025

We closed out 2025 having helped more Vermonters then ever, ensuring more families had access to safe, reliable heat during the winter months. Demand continues to rise across the state, and our mission has never been more urgent.

New Capacity Through Mobile Operations

This year, we secured funding for a firewood processor, a major milestone for Wood4Good. Most importantly, this equipment will allow us to take our operations on the road, bringing firewood production directly to communities that have historically been out of reach.

With this new mobile capability, we can process wood closer to where it’s needed, reduce transportation constraints, and dramatically increase our ability to serve rural and underserved areas.

We are expecting delivery within the next 60 days, and we are incredibly excited about the statewide impact this will enable.

Expanding Beyond Our Footprint

Our first expansion sites are now underway in Rochester and near Calais, Vermont, marking the beginning of our growth beyond our historical service area. These sites represent the first steps in a broader plan to reach more disadvantaged Vermonters across Vermont.

Looking Ahead

Everything we accomplished this year was made possible by volunteers, donors, and partners who believe that no Vermonter should have to choose between heat and other basic needs. As we move forward, we remain focused on building capacity, expanding geographically, and strengthening the community that makes this work possible.

Thank you for being part of Wood4Good and for helping us build a warmer, more connected Vermont. 🔥
