At Wood4GoodVT, our mission is simple: keep Vermonters warm by providing free firewood to families in need. That mission is powered by an incredible community of volunteers who show up, roll up their sleeves, and make it happen. From students to state police, we’ve been inspired by the energy and generosity of those who’ve joined us—and we’re excited to keep the momentum going this summer with a full lineup of volunteer opportunities.
Farmers Market Season Is Here!
There’s no better time to meet new supporters than during Vermont’s vibrant farmers market season. These markets are our #1 way to connect with new volunteers—and we need help staffing our tables, sharing what we do, and bringing fresh faces into the fold. If you love chatting with folks and spreading the word about a good cause, come spend a few hours with us at a market near you. We need help with setting up, tearing down, and staffing the table. See below for dates and locations. Sign up here.

Interested in Helping with Setup and Teardown?
Great! Here’s what to do: Stop by my home at 14 Buttercup Lane to pick up the tent and other necessary items (you’ll be provided with a list and clear instructions). Bring everything to the market location to set up before it starts, and then return at the end of the event to help pack up. Afterward, bring the items back to the Axelrod’s home. It’s a huge help, and even just doing setup or teardown (not both) makes a big difference!
Be Part of Something Bigger
We believe that no one should have to choose between heating their home and putting food on the table. When you volunteer with Wood4GoodVT, you’re not just moving wood—you’re moving mountains for a neighbor in need. Whether you can join us at a farmers market, show up for filming day, or pitch in at the wood lot, there’s a place for you here. Let’s keep the fire burning—together.
