With the snow (kind of) melting on Mount Mansfield and the days getting longer, we wanted to look back on the 2024-2025 season. Like a food bank, our charity provides a key resource – firewood – free to families in need, without any questions asked. This winter, Wood 4 Good supported 150 families in need, delivering 1.2 cords per family, which can heat a single-family home for 4-6 weeks. We have further expanded our service area from Chittenden County and Grand Isle, to most of Lamoille, Washington, and Franklin counties.

While next winter seems far away, we want to serve even more families in 2025-2026. Now is the perfect time to continue preparing wood for next winter’s needs.
In the coming weeks and months, we will be hard at work splitting and packaging wood. We are always looking for help to load trucks, operate heavy equipment, and deliver cords of wood. We also welcome experienced chain saw operators. If you are interested in other ways to help, we have many opportunities for outreach, grant writing and fundraising. We invite you to reach out to see how you can get involved! Please tell your friends and family about our services; we are always looking to help more families.

Remember, Wood4Good is nothing without the ongoing support of donors (and sponsors) like you. Please continue to consider Wood4Good in your charitable giving plans and, as always, spread the Wood4Good word!
