When it comes to firewood processing, the skid steer is a powerhouse that can make the job a whole lot easier. Wood4Good is excited to announce that we are getting a skid steer! Thanks to help from our friends at CCR in Essex Junction, we will be able to process more firewood for more Vermonters.

These compact machines are versatile workhorses that help with everything from moving logs to stacking firewood. Here’s how they work:1. Moving Logs: Skid steers are perfect for lifting and transporting logs. With attachments like a log grapple, they can grab and move heavy logs with ease.
2. Cutting & Splitting: While the skid steer doesn’t cut the wood, it can carry logs to a log splitter, position them, and keep everything moving efficiently, speeding up the splitting process.
3. Stacking Firewood: After splitting, a skid steer with a stacking attachment can quickly organize firewood into neat piles.
4. Transporting Firewood: Once your firewood is ready, a skid steer can transport large loads to distribution trucks.
We SO thankful that we are able to continue improving our operations with significant donations from partners like EastRise Credit Union! Please consider supporting partners that support Wood4Good!
We are so excited to use this equipment, and it will make our mission of providing heat for our fellow Vermonters. Wood4Good, warming homes and warming hearts.
